An Unforgettable Spring Menu

The new spring menu is a perfect balance of beloved French classics and innovative new creations. We had the pleasure of sampling several dishes, each expertly prepared and beautifully presented.

To Start: An Array of Delightful Flavours

While waiting for our starters, we enjoyed a selection of freshly baked bread, accompanied by saffron rouille, olive oil with balsamic reduction, and whipped goat’s curd. The saffron rouille was particularly delightful—silky, fragrant, and perfectly complementing the rich goat’s curd and tangy balsamic.

For starters, we opted for the Beetroot Terrine and the Ham Hock Terrine. The Beetroot Terrine was a revelation—earthy and vibrant, beautifully balanced with a punchy horseradish sorbet and a delicate beetroot dressing. Meanwhile, the Ham Hock Terrine was a classic done right: rich, deeply savoury, and elevated by a wholegrain mustard dressing and gribiche sauce, which added a welcome touch of acidity.

The Main Event: French Excellence on a Plate

For mains, we experienced both the elegance of vegetarian dining and the rustic charm of a French bistro staple.

The Pine Nut & Lemon Ricotta Ravioli was a celebration of spring, served on a bed of fresh, seasonal vegetables and finished with a delicate watercress sauce and wild garlic oil. The ricotta was light and creamy, with just the right amount of zesty lemon to lift the dish, while the fresh vegetables added crunch and vibrancy.

On the heartier side, the Free-Range Beef Burger was a perfect example of the French approach to burgers—cooked to order, juicy, and full of rich, beefy flavour. Served in a sesame brioche bun, it was paired with tomato chutney, garlic mayonnaise, and crisp French fries. This was a burger that truly showcased the quality of the ingredients, prepared with the care and precision one would expect from Brasserie Blanc.

The Perfect Finish: A Classic Dessert and Coffee

To round off our meal, we indulged in the Tarte au Citron Meringuée—a perfectly executed lemon tart with a light, airy meringue that melted on the tongue. The balance between the tart lemon curd and the sweet, pillowy meringue was nothing short of perfection, making for a refreshing and satisfying end to our dining experience. A rich and aromatic coffee provided the ideal accompaniment.
