We visited the

Unity Sky Lounge as a family on a Saturday after deciding to try somewhere different for a change. Our son had been eager to see the view from up there for quite some time, so we booked a table for 12:30 PM. We arrived slightly early at 12:20 PM and were pleased to find easy parking in a free two-hour zone right outside Unity Place. This was ideal for our lunchtime visit.

Upon entering, we took the lift located next to the entrance to Dipna and headed up to the 7th floor. We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member, who gave us a quick overview of the menu and invited us to sit wherever we liked. We opted for the cosy booths just past the bar, which were comfortable and inviting, creating a perfect spot to settle in and peruse the menu.

The drinks menu at Unity Sky Lounge is extensive, offering a wide range of options. The food menu, on the other hand, focuses on small plates, making it a great choice for sampling a variety of dishes. We decided to try the Sky Lounge dry-aged beef sliders with Bloody Mary ketchup, British cured meats with charred vine tomatoes and homemade pickles, the smoked haddock kedgeree scotch egg with Dipna’s tamarind chutney, house fries with rosemary salt and roast chicken skin mayo, and smoked almonds to nibble on while we waited. Our son chose the classic Margherita pizza, which is always his go-to dish wherever we dine.

The highlight of the meal was the roast chicken skin mayo dip that accompanied the house fries. It added a unique, flavourful twist to the fries, elevating them beyond your typical ketchup pairing. My husband enjoyed a peach iced tea mocktail, and I had an Aspall's cider. Both drinks were refreshing, although we would have loved to see Guinness and cider on draft.

The food arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. Each dish was delicious, and we soon realised we had probably ordered one too many! The portions were generous, and the flavours were spot on.

One of the highlights of our visit was chatting with the manager, Alan, who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He was enthusiastic about his work and took the time to engage with us, which added a personal touch to our experience.

The overall atmosphere was calm and inviting, with stylish décor and attentive service. Unity Sky Lounge is definitely a great spot for a relaxed family meal, with delicious food, friendly staff, and a stunning view to enjoy.

If you're in the mood for a three-course sit-down meal, this isn't the place for you. However, if you enjoy sampling a variety of dishes and are seeking a lunch or lighter meal, this is the perfect spot!

Would we return? Absolutely! However, we'd pace ourselves on the food next time!
