The festive season kicks off from early November with a selection of sweet treats and indulgent goodies, including The Fudge Bus, Crumble desserts, Chocolate Kisses, The Cheese Stall and much more.
From 14 November, the popular Christmas Tree Festival returns, featuring over a dozen beautifully decorated trees from local businesses, charities, and community groups. Visitors can vote for their favourite tree, helping to decide which sponsor will receive a charitable donation for their chosen cause.
On 22 November, Midsummer Place will join the city centre in switching on its Christmas lights, officially starting the countdown to the festive season. Shoppers will be greeted by cascading baubles from the roof, thousands of twinkling lights, a giant festive selfie reindeer, and plenty of seasonal sparkle.
Black Friday on 28 November promises exclusive offers and in-centre promotions across the weekend. White walls will showcase the best bargains and limited-time deals from Midsummer Place retailers, helping visitors make the most of the shopping season.
From 29 November, the Christmas Emporium, located in the former GAP unit, will run every weekend in December. Shoppers can explore local traders, artisan gifts, handcrafted treasures, and seasonal treats.
This Christmas also sees the return of “Santa Chat”, a heartwarming collaboration with MKFM. Families will have the chance to share their festive wishes live on air, with laughter, stories, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
From 1–12 December, Midsummer Place will give away £1,000 worth of prizes in its annual Advent Calendar competition — a festive favourite not to be missed.
And nothing says Christmas like carols! Local choirs, community groups, and schools will perform live throughout December, spreading festive cheer to all visitors.
Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager at Midsummer Place, said:
“Christmas is always one of our favourite times of the year. Christmas at Midsummer Place is more than decorations and shopping, it’s about connection, creativity, and community. From our local makers to our choirs and charity partners, we can’t wait to celebrate the joy of giving together this season.”
Keep your eyes peeled for Minty the Mouse, who’s hidden somewhere in the centre…
