
Michael Harrison and the Really Useful Group are thrilled to announce the return of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to Milton Keynes Theatre, following its sell-out run in 2022. This dazzling London Palladium production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical returns to Milton Keynes this August, playing from Wednesday 6 to Sunday 10 August.
Taking on the role of Pharaoh is Joe McElderry, who previously wowed audiences as Joseph during the extensive 2017–2018 UK tour. Joe rose to fame in 2009 as the fresh-faced winner of The X Factor, quickly climbing the charts with his debut album Wide Awake. He later showcased his vocal versatility on ITV’s Popstar to Operastar in 2011. On stage, he’s earned critical acclaim for roles including the lead in The Who’s Tommy and a starring part in Club Tropicana: The Musical.
Joining Joe are Christina Bianco as the Narrator and Adam Filipe as Joseph. A two-time Drama Desk Award nominee, Christina made her West End debut in Forbidden Broadway at the Vaudeville Theatre and became a viral sensation with her celebrity vocal impressions, amassing over 25 million views. Most recently, she captivated audiences as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium. Adam Filipe’s stage credits include Titanic The Musical (UK Tour), Prince Of Egypt (Original West End Cast), and Les Misérables (Queen’s Theatre). He has also performed in concert alongside Lea Salonga and appeared in Side Show: in Concert at the London Palladium.
The 2025 tour cast also features Hugh Cotton as Reuben and Will Haswell as Simeon. First released as a concept album in 1969, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has become one of the world’s most cherished family musicals. This multi-award-winning show marked the first major collaboration between Tim Rice (lyrics) and Andrew Lloyd Webber (music), and has since been staged countless times globally—on Broadway, in the West End, and in over 80 countries. The hit-packed score includes audience favourites such as Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, There’s One More Angel in Heaven, and Go, Go, Go Joseph. The London Palladium version earned rave reviews during its 2019 and 2021 summer runs before launching its major UK tour in 2022.
Directed by Laurence Connor, whose notable credits include School of Rock (London and Broadway), Miss Saigon, Chess, Cinderella, and the international arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, this production also benefits from a world-class creative team.
Choreography is by JoAnn M Hunter (whose 20 Broadway credits include School of Rock), with set and costume design by the award-winning Morgan Large. Lighting is by Ben Cracknell; sound design by Gareth Owen; wigs, hair, and make-up by Sam Cox. John Cameron serves as orchestrator, with John Rigby as musical supervisor and director. Associate roles are held by Nikki Woollaston (director) and Thalia Burt (choreographer). Casting is by David Grindrod CDG, with children’s casting by Amy Beadel.
Told entirely through music and guided by the Narrator, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat recounts the story of Jacob’s favourite son. Betrayed and sold by his brothers, Joseph ends up imprisoned in Egypt, where he discovers his unique ability to interpret dreams. His talents soon bring him face-to-face with the troubled Pharaoh, and Joseph rises to prominence as Egypt’s saviour, ultimately reuniting with his family.
Produced by Michael Harrison, this production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat promises an unforgettable theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.
