Inside No. 9: Stage / Fright opens its UK tour at Milton Keynes Theatre

Pemberton and Shearsmith return to star in the “dazzlingly entertaining” (The Sunday Times) live adaptation of their award-winning TV comedy Inside No. 9. After receiving rave reviews in London – including a five-star verdict from the Mail on Sunday calling it “absurdly entertaining… there’s simply nothing like it” – the tour gives fans across the country the chance to experience what the Financial Times described as “wildly clever”.

Recently nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play, Stage / Fright blends the dark humour, twisted tales, and theatrical flair that Inside No. 9 is famous for. Expect a mix of classic characters, brand new stories, and the trademark surprises that keep audiences on their toes. Further casting details are set to be announced soon.

Speaking about the tour, Pemberton and Shearsmith said:

They add with their usual dry wit: "The phrase ‘swan-song’ refers to a final performance—though let’s be honest, swans just honk and crap everywhere. So come and join us on the Inside No. 9 swan-song tour and see how we bow out. There won’t be a dry seat in the house."

Each performance will feature a surprise celebrity 'hostage' guest star. The West End run welcomed an incredible line-up including Stephen Fry, Lenny Henry, Mel Giedroyc, Matt Lucas, Michael Sheen, Adrian Dunbar, and many more. Stage / Fright kicks off in Milton Keynes on 9th September before visiting 11 venues across the UK, including Sunderland, Canterbury, Birmingham, Manchester, Woking, Hull, Oxford, Stoke, Liverpool, and concluding in Edinburgh on 29 November.

The ninth and final season of the BAFTA-winning Inside No. 9 aired last year and is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
