From the streets of Barcelona to festivals around the world, Osadía has wowed audiences with its bold blend of hairstyling and performance art. Now, for the very first time at Midsummer Place, visitors are invited to witness – or even take part in – this unique spectacle as adventurous volunteers step into the barber’s chair and are transformed into living works of art.

“This is not your average hairdo,” says Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager at Midsummer Place. “Osadía turns hairdressing into high-energy theatre – it’s eccentric, fun and something everyone can enjoy, whether you’re getting styled or simply watching the magic unfold. We’re thrilled to bring such a visually spectacular and interactive experience to the centre – it’s the kind of joyful moment we all need.”
Osadía: Whose Hair Dares is suitable for all ages and invites families, friends, and curious festival-goers to embrace creativity, boldness, and the unexpected. Expect expressive transformations, eye-popping colour, and plenty of applause – all in the heart of the shopping centre.
Also happening on the same day: The Stables Midsummer Sessions, a free, family-friendly acoustic music showcase. Kicking off at 1pm, rising conceptual pop artist Ebony Buckle sets the tone, followed by folk duo Smith & Brewer at 2pm, and local alt-soul talent Manny at 3pm. Each act performs a 45-minute set in an informal, standing area suitable for ages 3+ (under-16s must be accompanied by an adult).
And from 2–5pm, don’t miss Working Boys Club: Noisy Noise Noise – a bookcase, but not as you know it. This playful, customisable touring installation is part sculpture, part sound experiment. Curious? Step up and explore. Are you all ears?
