Savouring Spice: A Culinary Journey at Dipna Anand's; Unity Place

We had the pleasure of being invited to sample the menu at

Dipna Anand at Unity Place, a new culinary hot-spot located in the recently opened Santander building in Milton Keynes city centre.

The beautifully decorated interior features an urban twist ceiling, making the restaurant in keeping with the rest of the building. Stunning floor-to-ceiling windows let in abundant natural light, enhancing the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.

Our host was exceptionally welcoming and perfectly informative about every dish. They provided detail and recommendations, enhancing our appreciation of each dish and giving us the confidence to try something different. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home and added a personal touch to the overall dining experience.

Our experience began with an inventive touch – poppadom’s with a variety of dips served on a charming cart on wheels, setting the tone for a unique dining experience. The Punjabi onion bhajis were perfectly crispy, while the samosa chaat blast, highly recommended by our knowledgeable host, offered a delightful explosion of authentic flavours.

The masala fries were a modern twist on a classic favourite, and the meat thali provided an excellent opportunity to taste a range of dishes from the menu, each more delectable than the last. A standout dish was the mango and feta salad, which balanced sweet and savoury flavours beautifully. Each dish was exquisitely prepared, with flavours that were both rich and flavoursome.

Adding to the innovative dining experience, I sampled the Toast Pale Ale, an on-site brewed beer using unsold bread from the neighbouring bakery, The Bakers Room. This initiative is part of on-site commitment to sustainability and added a meaningful touch to our meal.

Insider Tip - Try the Gajar Halwa, (carrot pudding). Bear with me, carrot dessert is not your thing, right? When the host suggested it, I was reluctant, but WOW this dessert was incredible. It is a traditional North Indian dessert made by simmering fresh grated carrots with full fat milk, sugar and ghee. This delicious dessert is delicately scented with cardamom powder and garnished with chopped nuts.

Overall, Dipna Anand at Unity Place offers a culinary journey that combines traditional Indian flavours with modern twists. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in the heart of Milton Keynes.
