Maaya Indian Kitchen & Bar ✨

As Maaya in The Hub prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary on Thursday 27 February, we paid a lunchtime visit to sample their popular Thali lunch deal – and it did not disappoint.

This wasn’t my first visit to a logo for a restaurant called maaya indian kitchen and bar .Maaya, but it was my first time trying their lunchtime offering.

The Thali is designed as a complete Indian meal, bringing together a selection of dishes and accompaniments for a generous and satisfying lunch, all for £12.95 per person.

Tucked slightly away from the main thoroughfare of a purple and yellow logo for the milton keynes hubThe Hub, Maaya is one of those restaurants that you could easily walk past without realising quite how special it is. Those who do venture inside are rewarded with exceptional food and warm hospitality – and after nearly a decade of success, it’s a place that deserves to be discovered by many more people.

What we had

Our Thalis arrived on a large silver platter – visually impressive and immediately inviting – with the chosen main dish taking centre stage and an array of sides and condiments arranged around it. I opted for the Chicken Tikka Masala, while my colleague chose the Sweet Chilli Chicken, which had a tangy kick to it.

Alongside the mains were pilau rice, naan, a vegetable samosa, chana masala, jeera potatoes, raitha, salad, and lime pickle. The portion size is substantial – very much a main meal rather than a light lunch – and exceptional value for money.

The chicken tikka masala was rich, creamy and full of flavour, while the sweet chilli chicken delivered warmth and spice without overpowering the dish. The Thali as a whole was delicious, bursting with authentic flavour's and just the right level of heat. It’s the kind of lunch that leaves you already planning your return visit.
