This May half-term, Midsummer Place will host the three-day Repair Don’t Replace event from 10 AM – 4 PM, Thursday 29 May to Saturday 31 May 2025.
Supported by WD-40 Company, this free event invites the local community to breathe new life into their much-loved items, with expert guidance and live demonstrations showing how a little maintenance can go a long way.
In collaboration with WD-40 Company, Repair Cafés, and Men in Sheds MK, the event is a celebration of sustainability, community spirit, and the power of a good old-fashioned fix.
Guests are encouraged to bring a range of items to be repaired, including children’s toys, small appliances, cameras, bikes, and clothing or fabric goods. On selected days, analogue watch repairs will also be available.
Please note: Microwaves, smart devices, or any items too heavy to carry into the centre will not be accepted.
Kirsty McGiff, Marketing Manager at Midsummer Place, said:
“We’re so excited to bring the Repair Don’t Replace event to life. It’s a brilliant way to connect with our community and promote sustainable living in a fun and approachable way.”
It’s not just about repairs—families can enjoy games like Spin the Wheel and a Meet & Greet with the WD-40 Mascots, guaranteed to bring a smile to younger visitors.
Repairs will be carried out by the skilled volunteers behind Repair Cafés, a global grassroots movement that empowers people to fix rather than throw away, while building stronger community connections. Visitors can also pick up handy repair tips and hands-on skills. Joining them is Men in Sheds MK, a fantastic local charity providing a supportive, inclusive space for DIY, up-cycling, and skill-sharing.
So, join us at Midsummer Place from 29–31 May for three days of hands-on fun, sustainable repairs, and community connection.
