The Beach is back at centre:mk ⛱️

‘The Beach’ returns to leading shopping destination, centre:mk, from 17th July – 31st August 2026, bringing a classic ‘Great British Seaside’ theme for the summer.

Middleton Hall (outside John Lewis and Partners) has once again been transformed into the UK’s largest indoor shopping destination beach, featuring an impressive 102 tonnes of sand. The free-to-enter attraction has become a firm favourite with visitors, who have been eagerly anticipating its return, and is back with all the much-loved attractions, alongside some exciting new additions.

This year, ‘The Beach’ features all the traditional seaside favourites you’d expect, including free Punch & Judy shows, deckchairs and seating areas where families can relax while children play in the sand and enjoy the seaside atmosphere. There are also bungee trampolines, train rides and even an indoor rollercoaster, as well as pop-up stalls from the centre’s retailers, adding even more fun throughout the summer.

Kevin Duffy, Centre Director said, “We are delighted to be able to bring the beach back again for the summer holidays. It’s so well loved by families and a really fun experience for families looking for somewhere to go with their children. It’s completely free to enter and there are free activities alongside the rides. The best part is that it is the biggest indoor beach in a shopping destination in the UK, so families can enjoy a day out to the beach without worrying about the great British weather!”
