Relaxed Pantomime Performance Returns to Milton Keynes Theatre

Milton Keynes Theatre remains committed to providing relaxed performance opportunities, ensuring that theatre is accessible to all.

This year’s pantomime is no exception. On Tuesday 6 January at 1pm, the theatre will host a relaxed performance of the magical, circus-themed Goldilocks and the Three Bears, starring pantomime legend Brian Conley.

This special performance will feature all the much-loved panto magic that Milton Keynes audiences have come to expect. However, small but meaningful adjustments will be made to create a more comfortable experience for those who may find visiting the theatre overwhelming. These include keeping the auditorium lighting at a low level and reducing or removing loud noises from the show.

Designed for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment, including those on the autistic spectrum and those who may make involuntary sounds, this performance allows audience members to move freely in and out of the auditorium as needed. Extra staff will be on hand to assist, and designated chill-out spaces will be available for anyone who needs a break from the performance.

Additionally, visual stories are available upon request for all bookers. These guides provide detailed information and photos of both the theatre and the show, walking audience members through their visit, explaining available facilities, and helping to ease any anxiety ahead of their trip.

Emma Sullivan, Theatre Director at Milton Keynes Theatre, said:
“The annual relaxed pantomime performance is a key part of our commitment to ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of theatre. Alongside a wider programme of accessible performances, it reinforces our dedication to making Milton Keynes Theatre a welcoming space for all in our community.”
