New Cast Member Joins Waitress UK Tour Ahead of Milton Keynes Run

The producers of the smash hit romantic musical comedy Waitress have announced that Bernadette Bangura will join the UK and Ireland tour in the role of Becky from Monday 24 August 2026.

Bangura takes over from Sandra Marvin, whose final performance in the role will take place on Saturday 22 August 2026, just weeks before the production arrives at the milton keynes theatre logo is blue and white with a red stripe .Milton Keynes Theatre.

Bernadette Bangura brings a wealth of musical theatre experience to the role, having appeared in the UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Moulin Rouge! at London's Piccadilly Theatre, Once On This Island at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, My Fair Lady at the London Coliseum and on its UK tour, Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican, and the UK tours of Hairspray and Sunset Boulevard.

The production currently stars Carrie Hope Fletcher as Jenna, alongside Evelyn Hoskins as Dawn, Les Dennis as Joe, Dan Partridge as Dr Pomatter, Mark Anderson as Ogie, Mark Willshire as Earl, Dan O'Brien as Cal and, from 24 August, Bernadette Bangura as Becky.

Carrie Hope Fletcher's final performance as Jenna will take place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Milton Keynes Theatre, making the venue the final stop for her acclaimed run in the production.

Based on the beloved 2007 film by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress features music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, a book by Jessie Nelson, direction by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

Now celebrating 10 years since its Broadway debut, Waitress first opened in New York in April 2016 before transferring to London's West End in 2019. Since then, the musical has enjoyed worldwide success with productions across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

The heartwarming musical follows Jenna, a talented pie maker trapped in an unhappy marriage who dreams of a fresh start. When a baking competition and the arrival of a charming new doctor offer a glimpse of hope, Jenna must find the courage to change her life. Filled with humour, warmth and unforgettable songs, Waitress is a celebration of friendship, motherhood and finding the strength to follow your dreams.

Waitress visits Milton Keynes Theatre this September, with Bernadette Bangura joining the cast from 24 August ahead of the show's arrival.
