Summer at MK Market Launches This Friday with Street Food, Games, and a Brand-New Publication

This Friday marks the start of something special in Central Milton Keynes – the launch of the Summer at MK Market programme, and you’re invited to join the celebrations from 5pm onwards!

Kicking off the summer season in style, Friday evening promises a relaxed, festival-style atmosphere with street food from Jasper’s Pizzeria, a special MK Market Menu created by award-winning local chef James Carr (Cooked Over Coal), plus refreshing beers from Grid Beer and cocktails from Jasper’s. James’s menu will showcase fresh produce sourced directly from market traders, putting local flavours at the heart of the event.

For fans of outdoor fun, the ever-popular Pooleyville Petanque makes its return, joined by an exciting line-up of new games including carrom, ayo, chess, backgammon, corn hole bean toss, and quoits – perfect for a bit of friendly competition.

Visitors can also browse the Pooleyville Bookshop, home to a curated selection of books not available anywhere else in MK, while soaking up tunes from artist and DJ Richard Harrison, who’ll be providing the soundtrack to the evening.

The summer festivities continue through the weekend, with guest traders, creative workshops, and more family-friendly fun on Saturday and Sunday. Full details of the weekend programme can be found here.

Also launching this Friday is Paper, a brand-new publication that celebrates the true soul of MK Market – its traders. The debut edition of Paper explores the vibrant world of food and drink at the market, featuring personal stories, signature recipes, and the distinct flavours that make this space a beloved local destination. From exciting new dishes to time-honoured family traditions, Paper is a tribute to the community that brings the market to life.

Whether you’re coming for the food, the games, or just to soak up the atmosphere, Summer at MK Market is not to be missed. Join in this Friday - Sunday and experience the market like never before!
