Xscape Milton Keynes is teaming up with MK Melting Pot to host a community celebration for Black History Month, bringing together local organisations, independent traders and families for a day of music, creativity and connection.

Taking place on Saturday 10th October, the event will celebrate and recognise the people whose care, courage and commitment help strengthen communities every day. It reflects this year’s Black History Month theme, Honouring Our Communities, providing an opportunity to recognise not only prominent figures in Black history, but also the individuals, families, community groups and local organisations whose dedication, creativity, leadership and service make a lasting difference.

From 11am to 4pm, visitors can enjoy a programme of activities, with Xscape transformed with colourful decorations and balloons. A live DJ will provide a soundtrack of Caribbean music throughout the event, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

The event will also provide an opportunity to shop with local independent traders, including businesses run by people from marginalised groups, while discovering support and advice on topics including mental health and wellbeing, financial advice and youth empowerment. Families can also get involved in crafting sessions and storytelling circles designed to keep younger visitors entertained.
