The Annual Vigil, which took place on 25 Novembver, is organised by volunteers from organisations across Milton Keynes, including Soroptimist International, the Fawcett Society, MK City Council and MK:ACT. The event marks White Ribbon Day — a time when men and boys speak up about their year-round commitment to preventing violence against women and girls — and also recognises the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Fifty unique pieces have been created by community groups, local organisations and survivors of domestic abuse. Each artwork shares a message of hope, resilience and solidarity, designed to spark conversation and encourage reflection.
Students from MK College have photographed the collection, which will be showcased in a special photographic exhibition in Midsummer Arcade from 25 November to 10 December.
