Heavy Things explores how memory, labour, and cultural rituals shape identity and belonging. Through installation, film, and sculpture, the artists use overlooked histories and personal fragments to reflect wider social and political themes.
Set within a shopfront window, the exhibition brings together everyday objects—boxed belongings, domestic fragments, plates, curtains, and dismantled walls—to suggest a space in transition. These elements feel stored, displaced, or in motion, presenting the domestic as fluid and ever-changing.
Presented by Arts Central Studios and curated by Rookie Services, Shallow Gallery is a public platform celebrating contemporary artists and Milton Keynes’ creative community.
