To mark the paperback release of Liquid Reflections, Pooleyville is welcoming pioneering kinetic artist Liliane Lijn back to Milton Keynes for a special event at 
x+why at 
Unity Place.
Lijn will read extracts from her memoir, followed by a Q&A with Dr Ellie Brown and a book signing. Born in New York in 1939, Lijn is an internationally recognised kinetic artist, writer and sculptor whose multidisciplinary work combines science, eastern philosophy and mythology with industrial materials to explore light, energy and the female form. After studying in Paris, she settled in London in 1966 and became a leading figure in kinetic art, creating moving light sculptures and large-scale installations that reflect themes of technology, spirituality and feminism. Lijn also created two of Milton Keynes’ most recognisable public artworks: Circle of Light at 
centre:mk and Light Pyramid in Campbell Park.
